Chibi is a Japanese word meaning 'short person' or 'small child'.

In manga, chibi is a style that makes realistic figures look "cutter" by giving them a small stature with a larger head and eyes.

Chibis have less detailed clothing and all sorts of things (like bows, headbands, ribbons, etc.) in their hair. There are also different types of styles. One of them is the Kawaii style. Chibis in manga also often have big eyes.
